MoSPI’s PLFS Monthly Bulletin for August 2026 (released 15 September 2026) puts the overall unemployment rate (15+ years, Current Weekly Status) at 5.0%, down from 5.1% in July. Rural UR fell to 4.1% — the lowest since January 2026 — while urban UR was about 6.8%. Overall LFPR rose to 55.6% and WPR to 52.8%; overall female LFPR reached 34.8%.

RBI’s 16 September 2026 press release fixed the premature redemption price for Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) 2019-20 Series IV due on 17 September 2026 at ₹15,173 per unit. The price is the simple average of IBJA closing prices for 999-purity gold on 16, 15 and 11 September 2026. Premature redemption is permitted after five years from issue (issue date 17 September 2019).

PM Vishwakarma 17 సెప్టెంబర్ 2026న మూడేళ్లకు చేరువవుతుండగా, 16 సెప్టెంబర్ PIB నోట్ ప్రకారం 30 లక్షల రిజిస్ట్రేషన్ లక్ష్యం సాధించబడింది. Central Sector Scheme ఔట్లే ₹13,000 కోట్లు (FY2023-24 నుంచి FY2027-28); 18 సాంప్రదాయ వృత్తులు. 15 సెప్టెంబర్ 2026 నాటికి 24.37 లక్షలకు పైగా కళాకారులకు ప్రాథమిక నైపుణ్య శిక్షణ; 18.16 లక్షలకు పైగా టూల్కిట్లు; సుమారు ₹5,316 కోట్ల విలువైన 6.19 లక్షలకు పైగా రుణాలు మంజూరు.
As PM Vishwakarma approaches three years on 17 September 2026, a PIB note dated 16 September says its 30-lakh registration target has been achieved. The Central Sector Scheme has a ₹13,000 crore outlay for FY2023-24 to FY2027-28 and covers 18 traditional trades. As of 15 September 2026, over 24.37 lakh artisans had received basic skill training, more than 18.16 lakh got toolkits, and over 6.19 lakh loans worth about ₹5,316 crore were sanctioned.

RBI’s 16 September 2026 release says the Government of India will convert/switch securities for an aggregate ₹30,000 crore (face value) through auction on 21 September 2026 (10:30–11:30 AM on e-Kuber), with settlement on 22 September. Source securities include issues maturing between 2027 and 2030; destination securities include longer-dated GS through 2060. The auction is multiple-price based.

On 17 September 2026, Earth Sciences Minister Dr Jitendra Singh virtually inaugurated India’s 51st Doppler Weather Radar at Sambalpur, Odisha. News On AIR quotes him: radars rose from 14 to 51 in twelve years; about 40 more are planned under Mission Mausam; IMD also gives weather and cyclone early-warning support to 13 neighbouring countries.
