PIB flags nationwide consultation on fake seeds crackdown

PIB ప్రకారం వ్యవసాయ మంత్రి 10 సెప్టెంబర్ 2026న నకిలీ విత్తనాల అరికట్టు, విత్తన చట్టం నవీకరణపై రైతు నాయకులతో జాతీయ సంప్రదింపు నిర్వహిస్తారు. పరీక్ష కోణం: విత్తన నాణ్యత నియంత్రణ, రైతు రక్షణ, వ్యవసాయ సప్లై చైన్ ట్రేసబిలిటీ.

PIB announced that the Agriculture Minister would hold a nationwide consultation with farmer leaders on 10 September 2026 on cracking down on fake seeds and updating seed law. Exam-relevant angle: regulation of seed quality, farmer protection, and traceability in the agri supply chain.

Bhagwat Prasad Makwana takes charge as NCSK Chairperson

9 సెప్టెంబర్ 2026 PIB రిలీజ్ ప్రకారం భగవత్ ప్రసాద్ మక్వానా 6 సెప్టెంబర్ 2026 నియామకం తర్వాత National Commission for Safai Karamcharis చైర్‌పర్సన్‌గా బాధ్యతలు చేపట్టారు. గతంలో ఉత్తరాఖండ్ Safai Karamchari Commission చైర్, NHPC Independent Director, 2013 Manual Scavengers చట్టం కింద Central Monitoring Committee సభ్యులు.

As per a 9 September 2026 PIB release, Bhagwat Prasad Makwana assumed charge as Chairperson of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis after appointment on 6 September 2026. He earlier chaired Uttarakhand’s Safai Karamchari Commission, served as NHPC Independent Director, and sat on the Central Monitoring Committee under the 2013 Manual Scavengers Act.
